Group E of UEFA Euro 2020 will kick off at Bilbao's San Mamés and Dublin's Aviva Stadium from 14 to 23 June 2021. The group consists of host nation Spain, Sweden, Poland and Slovakia. Spain with home ground advantage are certainly the favourites to progress from the group but have hit an unsteady patch of form recently, having recorded just one win in their last four. The second spot is likely a stiff competition between Poland or Sweden with Poland in hot forms having only dropped five points in qualifying.

It seems to be relatively straightforward for Spain to be the Winner in Group E. The other 3 countries: Sweden, Poland and Slovakia are more to be eyeing on the 2nd spot in group that can send them off to the playoffs. During Euro 2016 which was held in France, Slovakia managed to advance to the last 16 thanks to a win over Russia and 0-0 draw against England before knocked out by Germany in the second round. Switzerland on the route to qualifying for finals of Euro 2020, top the group D and this will be Switzerland 5th participation in a Euro finals. The farest they go would be quarter final in year 2016 only to losing to Poland on penalties.

Key player: Marek Hamšík

The attacking midfielder who plays for the Chinese Super League club Dalian Professional and the Slovakia national team, for which he is captain. The 33 years old captain was Slovakia’s most capped player and all time top scorer. Much of Slovakia success dependent on him with his energy and stamina.
